Rosie
Rosie was rescued from Playa Blanca along with her mother Bianca, a few weeks after we rescued our sweet Gustavo. Playa Blanca is an internal hell for the animals that life there. It is a touristic island about 45 minutes off the coast of Cartagena, where there is little access to fresh water, food, or vet care. The locals could care less about the animals and find them as nuisance. They tend to scare them off from the beach areas where tourists are, and often turn to acts of violence in order to dispose of the animals. The thought of caring for them, or feeding them, is simply unheard of.
Some wonderful tourists visiting the area one day reached out to us about the animals. They refused to take "no" for an answer. They wanted to help these animals and started a GoFundMe Fundraiser. They managed to fundraiser over 3,000 together with Gustavo's Rescuer. This provided for their initial treatments and vet care. Despite their efforts, Bianca and Gustavo passed away. Rosie however stayed strong and fought. She even made it through her HW treatment. Rosie was adopted by a wonderful woman named Mary in New York, where she lives happily, jumping around in the snow during the winter season; never missing a day of the heat and neglect of Playa Blanca.
