At Cartagena Paws, we believe in teaching compassion and empathy with animals. As many of our volunteers are educators, we work hard in educating members of the community about basic animal rights and needs. We think it is essential to teach children how to show compassion for animals in order to create cultural change. 

In the future we plan to write grants in order to establish educational programs throughout Cartagena and the surrounding communities, starting with their public schools. In the meantime, we work with many children doing small workshops on empathy for animals.
