Bella
Bella and her brother were the first of the litter rescued from Playa Blanca and were by far the weakest of the litter (her sisters Eloise, Harper, and Charlotte were rescued not long after). Sadly, Bella's brother died from malnutrition on their way to the vet, but Bella survived, just barely! Once at the vet, Bella received emergency veterinarian care, and had to stay at the vet for nearly two months. There were many close calls during Bella's recovery, and we were often terrified that she wouldn't make it, but Bella was a fighter! In the middle of April, we decided to move Bella to be fostered with our Creative Director, Stephanie. While she was there, she grew quickly and her health improved greatly. She gained weight & energy and was able to handle vaccines much better - she'll always be small, but we could finally see that she would also be STRONG!
On May 11, 2018, Bella was ready to fly to her forever home in Washington, D.C. Bella's adopter was the tourist that found the litter of pups at Playa Blanca and she fell in love with Bella & sponsored her (and her sisters') recovery and treatments. Bella is our baby princess and everyone who meets her falls hopelessly in love. She snuggles into you and dances around when you sing to her in the sweetest way. We are so happy that she found the perfect forever home & we will always love and miss her!
Story update: Sadly, Bella passed away from kidney disease shortly after arriving in the the states. To read her memorial story, click here.
